  1. Abbey Dardon says:

My advice: find someone who wants a site and then make it for them for a nominal fee of say $100 or $200 and then take care of hosting the site and the domain name. The charge does need to be appropriate to the level of work you’re doing. . . If it’s a static site the charge will obviously be lower since you’re not going to have to go back and update it at all. If the site requires some ongoing work then charge more (say one update per week that sort of thing). And of course if you’re just making a site and don’t want to have to deal with it again just charge about 30% lower than what you think any competiiton will charge.. . Charge thesame fee annually. If they no longer want to pay then take the site down, if they pay leave it up, the key is your the one in charge of where it’s hosted etc. Thus it becomes an annual revenue stream as opposed to some quick cash on a onetime basis. Money over a long period is much more prefferable.. . Plus you can rent webspace and store multiple sites on it yet still charge the same rates.
