A Game of Go for Beginners?

I’ve been trying to find some online game manuals for beginners for the Go game. I tried playing this on yahoo, and i completely suck because i don’t know what I’m doing. But it reminds me of chess(which i suck at also) and I wanna try it again. If anyone has any online location, or book titles that will explain Go to beginners, I would appreciate it very much. Also, I’ve been watching hikaru no go(yeah, i know, but once you get pass the obnoxious kid, the game seems so intense and fun) and it showed that they have problems that you can solve using the pieces. If I can get some of those manuals too, I would be soo grateful!!!!

Go to this site: http://www.gokgs.com/

It has a tutorial on how to play Go and it’s also a hands on tutorial. You can even make an account on that site and play Go with people around the world. (Did you watch the episodes of Hikaru No Go where they play Go online? THis site is similar to that). However, if you don’t want to make an account, you can play games as a guest and you can make an account anytime you’d like :)

Remember, if you want to make an account, you must sign in as a guest first and from there become a member. Note that whatever your guest name was when you signed in will be your member ign (in game name).

Also, there are 2 versions of Go on this site, KGS Plus and regular KGS GO. KGS Plus requires payment, but you get many extras such as lectures every week, tournaments, etc. I play the free version (KGS Go) which is just Go games with people around the world.

I have an account on KGS, but I don’t play often. Whenever you want to play a game, feel free to email me :)

Good luck and have fun :D
