I’m a freshman in High school, and I’m dieing to be home schooled. I live in Kentucky, and I don’t really know much about the laws of homeschooling. I personally HATE the public school system. I’m a smart kid, and I have lot of friends at school. Its just that I cant stand they’re methods for teaching and I despise the fact that I’m treated like the only reason I’m coming to school is based around doing well on my CATS tests and making the school money. I have lost all motivation in my school system, and really find going to a school with no devotion to children a waste of my time. Thats probably the reason I’m extremely truant. (57 days) I want to get out of there as soon as possible. I really want to find a homeschooling system that works well and is effective. Preferably, online. My mom owns her own business and has no time to be my teacher too. I need prices, ideas to convince my mother. The whole 9 yards. I’m desperate. The public school system is draining me of everything!
I am about to finish my junior year of high school. And I am homeschooled. I’ve been homeschooled since 6th grade. Because my parents didn’t like the public school system. Now that I am older I agree with them. Homeschooling takes a lot of devotion and persistence. It only took us two years to pay for it, paying only $40 a month. I love it. I send my exams in weekly. They grade, and send back. You said your mom has no time to be your teacher. This will help, because I’ve been doing it for 3 years, and my mom hasn’t helped me ONCE. You can go to that website, it’ll give you the price. It’s an awesome school, and is accredited. So you’ll still get a high school diploma. As for convincing your mom, tell her how you honestly feel. Be honest with her. Ask her how she would feel if she was in your shoes.
