An Artist View Of Drawing?
this is a poem, i think. i found this online somewhere. give me your thoughts:
Everywhere he is……………………..
who do you see when you look at this picture.(had a drawing of a person) no it’s not me nor is he apart of my family. i created a character kind of like a kid except this character is a window. when i look at my characters eyes, i see a window to another side. a side where nothing ever goes wrong. only outside of this window i can see things that i want to see. around me is nothing but peace. if only i can bring this window to real life. carry it everywhere i go. knowing that everything he is, is just a window. not a person, not a friend, or a brother. although i wish he was. matter fact i wish everything he is, i am. i wish i can switch places with my character. i can be a better him and he can be a better me. that way we will both be happy. as i remember that reality is waiting for me, i step back….take a breath….and say everything he is……im not.
To me, recognised poetry strikes as something that is always cryptic (but always leaves enough clues), and it is so BECAUSE its profound meaning is too much to be described literally. In this poem (?), i feel that the only thing poetic about it is that its common sentiments are expressed in a cryptic way, and if it has any leadings to something profound, i totally missed it.
The piece talks about a representation of a desirable quality, and while its portrayal as a “picture” gives it the ~poetic transformation~ that is required in all poetry (i think), there is basically nothing described on the context of this representation (eg who is the narrator) that would make this general/commonplace/vague desirable-quality special to the reader.
