childrens church???

i watch the kids at my church and usally i just put a movie on most of the time the same veggie tales one about adam and eve… and i think that makes kids not want to come to church thats boring and kids like to have fun so my question is does anybody have any online sites that i can go to and get some kind of activity or some thing for them to do???
things like stories or coloring pages and out there just letting you guys know were not a “rich church” so it has to be free

You can just teach a different Bible story each week. And do a craft or picture based on the story.

I used to have the 4 year olds, and I kept the craft very simple. Just paper and crayons and a bit of cutting…

example- for Jonah and the whale- we made a big paper whale- two sided, staple the edges together, leaving the mouth side apart and make a little Jonah that can go in and out of his mouth. This sort of thing. You have to use your imagination. We hung stars and sun and moon on yarn from an old hanger for the creation story.

I use Barbie dolls sometimes to tell the story. Have them dressed in Bible time clothing. We have great flannelgraphs too- two boxes of them. I bet you can get them used if you check, Ebay maybe even.

Older kids love puzzles and maybe they can act out the stories.

Songs! Oh the younger kids love to sing. Always do the actions with the songs. They stop liking so much singing the older they get! You’ll have to adapt to what age you have.

I hope you have enough help so you can split the kids up according to age! It makes it a lot easier.

If you can’t- do employ the older kids who can , to help you out.
Someday, ask okay who knows such and such a story.. can you tell it? And discuss. You’d be surprised at what the kids have retained and remember. And what insights they do have.
