Leapster for a 3 year old? Or a kid computer.?

I have a 3 1/2 year old and I would love to get him an educational game for Christmas. I bought him the new Fisher Price Cool School computer. I am thinking of taking it back and getting him a Leap Frog Leapster. He knows his letters and colors, but not math, spelling, reading yet. Do you think this is too advanced for him? I’ve never played with one before, only seen them online. Thank you!

My son is the same age and I have bought him the Leapster for Christmas. He already kind of knows how to use the buttons as he watches his DVD’s on our old Playstation and uses that controller for the DVD menu and games. Some of the leapster games are more advanced, but if you get the ones that start at PreK (3 years) I think they will be easy for them to understand! Kids their age pick things up really quickly, so if the games are characters that interest him I’m sure he’ll figure it out pretty quick. I think it’s the better choice as you can always get new games for it and they won’t get bored.
