Kids Online Learning Tools

How can I get kids to do their own research? Why don’t kids know about the various online tools available?
Wikipedia.com, dictionary.com, snopes.com, these are all good resources. If you learn how to phrase a search then getting the answer is easy. It would cut out about 70% of the questions in Yahoo! Answers. Am I being overly critical?
You can lead a horse to water, but cannot make it drink, and you can feed a man for a day or you can teach him how to fish and he can feed himself for life. Students don’t automatically know what research tools are available to them, even if they spend a lot of time online. They are here in Y!A asking what they can do about their bad teacher or they are chatting with friends in Face book. You have to guide them to the areas where you think they will be best suited to learn the areas of your teachings. Good luck and work with them. You can make the difference.
